So, this subforum doesn't seem to be very busy. In an effort to amend this, I would like to know, what level of interest is there in RPing or collaborative storytelling in Spiritus and what genres or themes particularly interest people?

I have a pretty extended amount of experience with both - if you need help, let me know!

I’m interested too. Though I think maybe having it in discord as opposed to the forums may be best?

That depends on the pacing - having it on the forums might be better for people to read back on, at least from my experience. Never really RPed with Discord. I guess it depends on the type of RP/storytelling?

Certainly, the kind of thing that interests me - story-focussed-rp with fewer, longer posts, is best done on a forum. I've tried RP on Discuss and found it... tricky, but it's certainly not impossible.

Okay, so that looks like all the interest we're going to must right now. With Character RP and Storytelling the clear winners so far, I thought I'd share an RP I have running in TSP to show you a different style of story-focused RPing I like to do. The example is to show how such an RP is carried out and structured, rather than to give an example of genre or setting - that we'll determine in a bit and will hopefully come up with something uniquely Spiritan. A Memory of Starlight [OOC & Sign-in] (Read first)A Memory of Starlight [IC]

Every character gets a speech colour (NPCs have generic colours) and then you use colours to distinguish speech rather than quotation marks. It was something my friends and I did when I was still in school (I don't remember how we started), but I've always found it helpful to make sure that different people's characters stand out from the text when others are writing them and the colour just make the whole thing easier to read on a screen.

Right, I apologize. At any rate, that's pretty new for me, but I'm all for adapting to new things

Right, I apologize. At any rate, that's pretty new for me, but I'm all for adapting to new things No need to apologise! And I apologise if that came across as snippy - it wasn't intended to. As for new things! Yay! But I need to stress again, as much to remind myself as anyone else, that I don't want to force anything on anyone and this particular style, which for me is by far the most comfortable to write and to read, is not going to be for everyone on account of it breaking the most fundamentally basic rule of most RP, in that you actually do write other people's characters to some degree. So, it's a matter of seeing what works best for the majority. Relatedly, I've been thinking about setting ideas and whilst we haven't even decided on genre, I've been thinking about an Irish/Celtic flavour that goes with both the Spiritus flag (can we call that a spirit tree?) and the potato theme. I'm not sure what others -especially those who have been in the region a while, unlike me - might think, but I want to make sure that whatever we work on it is suitably Spiritan.

I'm highly intrigued, the last and only RP I was in wasn't managed well and fell apart quickly, so it's reassuring to see someone with some solid experience and working ideas leading the way. In terms of the Irish/Celtic idea, I can't speak for everyone, but it sounds very promising to me.

So, I've rid myself of almost all NS responsibility and my TSP RP seems to have collapsed into a black hole for reasons mostly outside of my control. Shall we workshop this thing into existence?
