The Language and Grammatical Corrections Act
Title
1. This Act shall be cited as The Language and Grammatical Corrections Act.
Objectives
2. The objective of this Act is to allow for non-substantial changes in existing legislation to fix typos or other errors without a full amendment.
The Language and Grammatical Corrections Act
3. For the purpose of this Act, an error shall include all errors in spelling, syntax, punctuation, hyphenation, and capitalization.
4. If an error is found in existing legislation the Chair Potato may fix that error without needing a formal amendment by following the procedure in Section 5.

a. The Chair Potato shall issue a public statement about the change.
b. If there are no objections from any member of the Legislature or the Chief Executive within forty-eight (48) hours, the Chair Potato may correct the error.
c. If there is an objection, then the suggested change requires a formal amendment.
6. Nothing in the Act shall be construed to allow the Chief Executive or the Legislature to change the meaning or substance of a piece of legislation without a formal legislative amendment.
